How to convert your PDF to JSON online with Parsel

Simply drag and drop your PDFs into Parsel and let our extraction technology analyse, identify and convert your PDF tables into JSON documents in minutes.

Over the past 15 years, JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) has become a staple of data transference for web services. Being easy to read and write, and simple for machines to parse and generate, it's a cornerstone for web and mobile-based applications that capture any information that needs to be transferred to a back-end service.

It's safe to say that if you're a developer or programmer, you're familiar with JSON. And it's also probably a safe bet that, at some point, you've experienced the problem of having valuable data being trapped in a PDF and no easy way to extract it. We can relate.

Converting PDF to JSON was one of the primary use cases we had in mind when we built Parsel - something we'll explain in more detail in our next blog (stay tuned!). Although Excel outputs are a core proposition for us - Excel is used more widely by firms around the world for various offline purposes - JSON is very much the format of choice for anything web related.

We really wanted a tool that could just as easily convert PDF table data into JSON documents as it could Excel files. And now, thanks to Parsel, it's possible to do exactly that.

Unlike other apps, we've taken the hassle out of data extraction. We don't ask you to select a page range or target areas in your PDF - Parsel does all that for you. Our tech analyses, identifies and extracts your data all on its own; it's simple, fast and efficient.

And with superior accuracy born from rigorous extraction of complex financial datasets, there's far fewer issues recognising non-alphanumeric characters - meaning less time for you spent making manual corrections.
